We proudly announce a hand full of new moderators to clean out our crowded support section.

108 Sterne, riq and Charly2.0 (f/n/a Charly2000) were three of our most active users, but now they dare to take the next step and do something really special in their career at TheLegacy. We wish them luck, infinite much time and very strong nerves. They will need it.

Welcome!

25/06/2009 (brofae)
From now on, it is possible for all registered users to change their user name.

Please log in and send us a notice for moderator within the support section of any title. This is necessary for a proper allocation and to prevent misuse.

Due to server problems, our website was offline severel times in the past and along with this matter new visitors had problems creating new accounts. We fixed all errors und hope you enjoy TheLegacy and come again and again.

TheLegacy moved.

The move ends sunday night. At the first view you notice an increase of the connection speed, but if you have a small-band-connections, then you won't notice that.
At the second look you can see that TheLegacy that you can reach TheLeagcy on a secured line. Just enter https in place of http. you have to trust the certificate because we don't have the money to gain a certificate from an official o.rganization.

TheLegacy moves.

Since one week we have rented a new Server, the installation is almost completed. There will be a short period of testing and, if there don't occur major problems, then the server goes online as fast as we can.
Our maindomain (thelegacy.de) will move onto the new server. That may last one day. If everything went well, you wont' notice much, because as soon as the new server in online, all querys for thelegacy.de will be redirected to daslegat.net (www.daslegat.net).
Therewith no supports or anything else will be lost during the move, I will lock the old server for a short period of time. When that is the case, you can reach us temporarily under the domain www.daslegat.net.

Many things happend during the last two months at TheLegacy:

1) New Mods:
Beside the existing quartet jpmaverick, Doomwarrior and Cebulba look about the gameforum and the supportentries meanwhile. We hope that we can reduce the handling time of the supportentries.

2) PayPal:
TheLegacy is financed completly by private money. The main part of the costs is paid by Mishra and Dom. Now you can donate money to keep TheLegacy alive. Just click at the PayPal-link at the entranceside.

3) Systemchange:
Now it is possible to restrict the view of infos from games to single systems. So you only get the infos you want. Registerd users have the additional possibility to show only the "favoured systems". This attitude can be set in the membership-area.

4) TheLegacy-Meeting:
It happend after a long time.: The first meeting of TheLegacy-mods and -users took place. The pictures of the event are here.

For being able to handle the increasing amount of fans and for providing a constant development of TheLegacy, we are searching for active support.

Moderators [support] urgent need for the console games section, but also for the computer games. You check, evaluate and examine the support that reaches us. A good knowledge about games and the relationship between the games and the release systems are needed here. NOT required

Designer - You are able to give an extensive game data base a new outfit and know how to do?

Programmers - Are you interested in data base programming? Knowledge about PHP and mySQL required.

Are you interested? If so, well, let us just talk about it- come to contact us!

23/08/2004 (mishRa)
After a lot of request from several TheLegacy-Fans, including Rudi Stember (Factor 5), we decided to include console games into the database as well.

Distinguishing between computer games and console games just doesn't seem right in our eyes. All of them are entertainment, arts and, of course, fun. We made a little start with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Soul Calibur II, Star Fox Adventures and Ikaruga. We hope that other pearls of console games will find their way into the museum.

The support and some other parts of the museum were revised again. This includes the navigation bar, the more/less button and reviews.

Also, it is possible now to bring you own games collection into TL. More detailed functions will follow in near future.

Some time ago, I realised that in September, TheLegacy will be five years old.
Regarding this event, it would be a great event if all museum slaves would introduce themselves to the museum tyrant- me.
Seriously, I think it would be a big show if all loyal fans of TheLegacy and its supporters could meet on a certain place, for debating, discussing and talk shopping- and, of course, for having lots of fun.

Personally, I would prefer Frankfurt/Main (Neu-Isenburg), Germany. There, I can arrange an adequate room and for hotel rooms, I can get some special conditions (no, no provision).

If someone of you is interested, please write me an email about when you would prefer to have such a meeting, and from which country/city you are coming. Eventually, we can arrange some car pools as well.

The support area was revised a little bit:

We will use a piece of HTML now, which you can use on your own site for using the TheLegacy database.
Also, we are offering several tutorials, which are covering several topics. For example, we can offer you two short tutorials which show you how to use the programs "Screenthief" and "Videothief". We will offer other tutorials soon.

The programming slaves announce that it is now possible to admire the insides of game packages.
These beauties have been neglected at TheLegacy for quite some time, but these times are over now. Here are some examples for beautiful inside covers: Gilde, Die, Evil Islands and Arx Fatalis.

If inside covers are available, they will be shown at "all covers (2) and insides". Of course, we ask you to support us with inside covers. :-P

The news are becoming rare.
So, we must fill some gasps ;-) and talk about some of the latests changes.

After the covers from the support can be worked out online now in quite a nimble way, it is only a matter of time until the new comment function is available for the gallery also. Furthermore, already existing covers, screenshots and goodies can now be displayed in the support department and allow it by this to get an overall view of things which should be replaced. Finally- the war is over, medals are out! That means that from now on, there's a detailed list at the person info screen which shows you which support and where these persons gave to TheLegacy.

09/06/2004 (mishRa)
Okay folks, that's the way how you wanted it- the final masterupdate is done!
That means that from now on, TheLegacy will only be updated by your online support.

What else has changed? There's now a comment option for goodies. By that, you can give us your comment on screenshots and goodies after they were accepted as well.

Also, it is now possible to put pictures which are neither screenshots nor covers in the heading "other pictures". Examples are self-drawn maps or pictures of programmers, etc.. Let's see what comes in, and let's see if we can use it. ;)

Furthermore, covers and goodies are now connected directly. That means that you'll always see the goodie which belongs to the cover on the game infopage, if already available and connected. One of the results of the direct connection is that while browsing through the gallery, always the counterpart of the goodie (->cover) or the cover (->goodie) will be shown. This allows a comfortable classification of various versions. Discussions about this topic here.

Our server will move in the night from May 3rd to May 4th, approx. between 23:00 and 06:00 (GMT +1:00). That means that our server will not be available at this time and thus, you won't have access to the site.
I only can say sorry to all of you.

Do you want to take virtually one of your personal highlights in your hand finally and give a sigh of joy? You don't want that complicated searching for the game or awkward Membership -> favourite game clicking around, but a comfortable way of navigating?

Your wish comes true! Just call on the profile of our other members at the XXL-Search and choose the member you want- yes, not only your highlights, but also the highlights of the other members are displayed now.

Have fun at sighing!

Our newest update is maybe uninteresting for our German visitors, but surely not for the international community.
The game forum is available in English now. According to the chosen language, every post is now sorted and posted in a separate forum. Information about the other forums concerning new posts, etc, is always shown to you and gives you the opportunity for zapping between the forums. We think that this is especially interesting for our members and visitors who don't want to miss a single post.

Amiga-Muzak is brilliant and has an unerring charme?
You also want to listen to some rather unknown tracks, not always the same and famous ones? You want to listen to about 22 hours full of hymns of the evergreens?

Well, then go and listen to the TheLegacy radio, which was realized together with Back to the Roots.

Because of the huge amount of data received, there's another small update. Especially the CPC fans will be pleased by this update- hundreds of new CPC screenshots arrived at the museum. Also, 100 covers and back covers found their way into the holy halls of the museum. Several hundreds of goodies were and are still uploaded to the database, but the updated ones have not the little red "updated" marker.

The long expected Masterupdate is finally done!
In detail that means 1,687 new screenshots, 831 of them in original size, 183 Cover and 157 backs.

The Amiga CDTV has been added as a computer system, after some very persistent urging of single members.

What are the news, broadcasted live from the beautiful museum world?
After a little conference with our attendants, we decided to do two little changes, concerning the titles and the membership area.

A little example for the first change:
You're searching for "Serf City" and get a flood of games, which all have three a.k.a.-names. Some time later, you find the game you searched for and are happy (at least we hope so).
The change is that if you are searching for "Serf City", you will only get the direct hit, without any a.k.a.s (not "Siedler" or "Settlers", but only Serf City). The previous a.k.a.s are summarized at "known titles".

The membership change is that you can have a look now at a very useful list, which shows you which user was online in the last 24 hours or is at the moment and who has registered to TL.

Today, a whole cartload of games (26!) from the far Austria has reached us. Our noble donor Matthias Kauselmann sent them to us.

A delighted tyrant sits the stack right now and scares the other greedy museum slaves, who try to grab some games, away.

Once again, we can report something new for your eyes only ;)
At the support area, we've divided the systems into three categories, as well as in the membership area at the column of your favourite games.
Also, you have now the possibility to look at support entries made by you which weren't (fully) integrated yet.
The softology, known from the person and company information, is build up chronologically now.

Do you have the same problem: you always get top screenshots, but made on a computer system in which you are absolutely not interested? And the real interesting screenshots are hidden in the gallery?
Well, solve the problem by feeding our database via the membership area! Just show us there in which computer system you're interested, and you'll get the screenshots of your favourite system first.

I hope that you all had pleasant Christmas holidays. At TheLegacy, we're full at work again and I'm glad that I can give you a report about two useful changes we made.
1. The information about the companies has been extended, what basically means that much more information will be shown and must be filled out.
2. Our members have now the possibility to show us which computer systems they had or still have. At the moment, this information only serves for passing to other users via the user information. At a later point, we'll use this information for optimizing the information about a game of the individual user.

Some of you may have noticed it: since yesterday evening, there have been some little disturbments with our site. The reason for that was that we've had some reorganisations. But the bright side is: games of a compilation can now be registered for the support, too. Also, we're now able to show you in which game is included in which compilation.

A small supplement to our news from October 27th, 2003:
I've added another two improvements to the search option. For example, if you search for a game that contains an "ü", "ä" or "ö", the search engine will also search for "ue", "ae" and "oe". Same thing with the genitive: if you search for "Kings Quest", the engine will now also find "King's Quest" and vice versa.

Just some little updates, only secondary ones. At the search, Arabic figures will be transformed into Roman figures internally. For example, you'll find "Ultima 5" now even if you've entered "Ultima V" at the search.

Hi Folks,
the fact that here wasn't written something for a long time doesn't mean that nothing happened. But because the changes show themselves in the detail, I'll present you a short summary:
  • The interface of the games in the membership area has been revised
  • the call for the support has been relocated to the end of a game
  • The entry of a review is possible in two languages, the display of the reviews is now hosted at the gameforum
  • The screenshots at the gallery can be reduced to single computer systems
  • at the point detailed test you're able to see more than one test
Did I forget somthing?

Because of us having so inifinitely much data and not wanting to withhold it from you, there is a huge master update which pushes the amount of games updated since 07/13 up to 1770.
And believe me friends, this is only the beginning!

Meanwhile we have two types of updates: First, the master update with its recent impact on TheLegacy with over 600 games and second, the "crawling" update which brings changes nearly every day.

As our regular visitors surely have already noticed, the support slowly shows new features: The beta testers are already allowed to use all functions, and the other registered members some part of these. In the background I am developing the new functions to speed up the data transfer into the live data bank, including an e-mail notification when your data was accepted.

Here is the Forum.

I slipped this in briefly, not a big deal. Now you can leave a few sentences about yourself at TheLegacy. It would be ideal to do this in German and English.

In the Membership section you now may look for members who have the same taste as you. Just check the favorites of your choice and start the search.

Supplement: Aside from searching for a special conformity you can now even search for all conformities.

I'll cut it short: You are now able to edit your own posts in the GameForum. Moderators may edit all entries. In mishRa's and my case that was already possible before in the databank, but this way is more convenient for us, too. Please do us a favor and edit existing entries with reason.

Supplement: Because of us being able to edit GameForum posts I updated our FAQ.

Another change in the Membership section: It is now possible to search for other members and view some information about them.
Since yesterday there is a new feature in the GameForum, a little helper to create links for the entries in the GameForum. And for those who haven't noticed yet: Prior to saving you can preview an entry. All the links can be tested in the preview and you can test the orthography before saving your post.

A new feature can be found in Membership section. There you can display a list of your favourite games. If necessary you also can remove respective games, as needed.

13/06/2003 (DoM)
I needed to update our FAQ section. The reason; problems might emerge after we made modifications on our stylesheets.

12/06/2003 (DoM)
You ever wondered how to let your friends know about all your favourite games. Now this feature is available. It is available in the same section where you evaluate individual games. Unlike the rest of those evaluations, you can reverse this 'favourite games' flag. In the near future you will be able to modify those 'favourite' settings in your Membership section.

A list of your favourite games can be displayed wherever the name of a TheLegacy member is displaced. Currently this is only in section GameForum.

09/06/2003 (DoM)
There also is a tiny addition. In the Membership areas you now can set configurations for the gallery display of covers and screenshots. There you can define to display the first picture, as it is seen in the games screen. By default always the next picture is displayed. Try it out, I made sure the feature is easy to configure.

07/06/2003 (DoM)
I just uploaded a whole bunch of new updates; 91 new games, 501 new Screenshots, 49 additional covers, one new musical composition and 125 new members. As always, have fun...

05/06/2003 (DoM)
One more feature! Now you can define the number of Forum entries that should be displayed per page. To perform this modification, go to your Membership section - default is five.
Finally, you can overwrite this feature in your GameForum. That is to display all entries at once. A reset button is there as well.

05/06/2003 (DoM)
I just updated our FAQ section. So stop by, maybe you find the answer to one of your questions.

28/05/2003 (mishRa)
Still got those hand made maps from the likes of Dungeon Master, or Maybe there still is a barely running Diskette with tracks of Hard Drivin’2: Drive Harder?

If so, then get those old relics of yours to our museum so we can honour your contribution accordingly.
Please send it to mishra@thelegacy.de.

"Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis"; a somewhat dull landscape simulation or a quite impressive graphical escapade? Either way an interesting illustration of how all those great Lizards might have lived.

Some changes are quite trivial. Though they still take a long time to complete. For more than a year now we've been longing for a game rating feature for our visitors. Finally we managed to implement this feature.....

Now you can submit your rating of respective games; one per game. One Caveat; this function is only available for registered users.

16/05/2003 (mishRa)
Today we have a multitude of updates to report on. This includes update on content, as well as various technical modifications.
One consequence from some of those tech-updates is that we now can include an unlimited amount of Coverscans. We hope that this will add value to many of our guests.
As an example, Pirates has at least 3 different Covers. Just check it out!

15/05/2003 (DoM)
Just yesterday we got two CDs from Jan Zottmann made available to us - Immortal and Immortal² respectively. The soundtracks are amazing and you can get both CDs from his web site.
A while ago we took the initiative along that line and extended all Games with the category "Offer". So seek and ye shall.

find!!! For those that wisheth to find, yet don’t have the giving of knowing to find, try Shadow of the beast!

22/04/2003 (mishRa)
Where is the petrol can in Maniac Mansion?
How much does the original of Ultima 1 run for?
What is the grey Moonstone in the middle of the game all about?
Serial murder in Sims?

Questions that once upon a time were answered by the Forum, however, which then got lost through the mass of contributions.
That won't happen that easy anymore. Via small bookmarks you now easily can jump to those precious questions and answers. You can find respective bookmarks in the header of our Game Forum. Enjoy!

The Keepers of the museum once again came together to write down experiences on one of their Games. This time they ventured the avenues of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 -- there you also can find a link to our partner site YiYa. Alternatively, you can skip all the fuss and go straight to the Elder’s diary of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2..

15/04/2003 (DoM)

The museum’s elder has the honour to address the commoners with a few spare words.
In short, new things as far as your eye can reach. We have 660 (!) screenshots, some of them for performance reasons in reduced and standard format. Furthermore, we included 150 Goodies and 60 coverscans.
So I think this update certainly made it worthwhile. By the way, we also included 4 Amiga soundtrack.

Thus my fellow friends and guest, feel warmly invited to once more wander the hallways of this humble shelter.

02/03/2003 (DoM)
Christopher Stone - about Music, Games and Dragon's Lair. Read the interview at YiYa.
An english version is available.

18/02/2003 (DoM)
So I got another update for you. Nothing out of the extraordinaire anymore, right? 107 new covers, more than 300 screenshots and somewhere around 50 other treats, all of this supplemented by lots of additional information around many games.
Oh! Before I forget. Due to all those updates and contributions our Top 10 once more shifted around.

16/02/2003 (DoM)
… and it doesn't seam to end. One update upon the next embarks on TheLegacy.
Today I pose a challenge to all of you, that is, updates should happen as frequently as in recent times.
Following is a link to our Top 10 contributors. Furthermore, as a special honour we list winners of their respective category on our home page.
Thus, if you'd like to see your name on this page, just start helping us with updates, etc. For details, click here!

How one makes the Museum's owner smile?
That would be a little donation!
Then how one makes them smile even more?
Right!!!! That would be a not so little donation.
The latter was brought to use by Thomas Krollman -- that is with a box full of games. Many thanks, Thomas!
At the same time we would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody that helped us with furhter Screenshots, Coverscans and other valuable information. At times your help took on epic proportions. Cheers to all of you!

12/02/2003 (DoM)
Thus another update is online; 700 screenshots, 100 new covers, as well as quite a few other treats.
Once again many thanks to all of those who helped us make things happen.
Appearance also was tweaked and improved here and there, though that's just a common occurrence. No real need to mention it.
Special attention I want to direct to new Information on respective Game Pages; that is as far as they are impacted. In cases that there are new releases of original games we will cross-reference this on their respective Game Pages. As an example take Lode Runner.

26/01/2003 (DoM)
A second update followed almost immediately, covering further screenshots, coverscans, as well as visual captions of package content. Some of the latter are beginning to resemble works of art, for a few examples check out games by Infocom.

15/01/2003 (DoM)
A belated X-Mass present to all our visitors; we managed to update 621 Games in total. Most update concerned additions in the area of screenshots.

05/01/2003 (DoM)
We wish all our visitors all the best for the new year.
We hope to bring you some interesting things and surprises from the computergame -pioneer time within the next 365 days. And if things go right, even the legacy becomes more interesting and larger on scale. We in any case, do our best.

Wow, 400 screenshots again?
Will that ever end? If we'll get more of them, TheLegacy's probably becoming a picture book....

15/10/2002 (mishRa)
A new update again?
Of course, if you have about 400 new screenshots, you'll properly do the same. We've removed the two-pics-per-game-rule, so there are quite fine galleries there now.
Great thanks to Splatter!

Our cooperation wirh our partner site Kultpower has been extended significantly. Beside the articles from the "PowerPlay", everey article from the "AmigaJoker" is now available for the games.

Also, we've made a new category; the FAQ.

Screenshots as far as you can look, available at our site. Every game in the museum's mow able to thrill you with uncountable screenshots. Have a look at Ultima 9, Dark Age of Camelot and Everquest.

Update:
350 (!) covers have been added to the museum. We were only able to make this mega-update with the help and support of the Classic Amiga Preservation Society.

01/09/2002 (mishRa)
Update:
12 Covers (e.g. Myth, Wiggles)
60 Goodies (e.g. Dragonflight, Purple Saturn Day)

Furthermore two pearls: "Leif Ericson" and "Myth", The first was never published and the second was available for members of "Magnetic Scrolls-Fanclub" only.

Since it is nevertheless partly quite interesting in the reference to emulators, which system requirements have the games, these are now also listed.

29/08/2002 (mishRa)
Update:
26 covers, (e.g.: Demon's Tomb, 2400 A.D.)
20 screenshots or Goodies (e.g.: Moonstone, Soldier of Fortune2)

24/08/2002 (mishRa - tyrant of the museum)
The work is completed!
The lovely museum authorities could pull up itself to give the wicked, gaping people a mixed samness.
In plain text, we could adjust the lost of the Covern with approximate 200 new one a little bit, a few mixed scraps here and a few mixed scraps there... all in all approximate 550 things was made.
Off you go, bought tickets and stormed the holy halls!

Due to maintenance work there could be irregularities with TheLegacy in the night from Saturday to Sunday. We ask you to excuse this.

13/08/2002 (mishRa)
In the last few days, emails have been sent to people which seem to come from members of TheLegacy.

That' definetly not true.
Please examine these mails exactly and look if our email-address is in the header or if there's only a address which is determined to be an answering email-address. If you're not sure, please examine the whole header. If you have technical problems, ask DoM.
Mails which are comin' from members of TheLegacy have ONLY the name@thelegacy.de header.

28/07/2002 (DoM)
A little change for the navigation has been made. The topic "magazines" has been removed and can be found under "Shop" shortly. The "Game Forum" took the place as replacement for the removed topic (within the navigation as well as on the museum map).

13/07/2002 (mishRa)
600 coverscans, mostly of Amiga games, have been removed. Now, it is a little bit empty here- if you find replacements for them, scan 'em and mail 'em us!

27/06/2002 (DoM)
If you're using Opera, you should follow some things: at the menu
File-->Preferences-->Security-->Privacy
you have to enable "Enable referrer logging". If you don't do so, games can't be displayed properly.

23/06/2002 (DoM)
For the last three days, TheLegacy hasn't been available, sorry. We had to update our server, which was VERY important, and we've updated our PHP-engine. So, our spring clean-up should have an end with this and we hope that we don't have to take off TL any more!

08/06/2002 (DoM)
Our guestbook's available again. Look at it and post what you think.

05/06/2002 (mishRa)
We're like a VW Beetle- we're back again and again and again.

Our museum's elder mishRa is still humbling, but he's got enough strength still to open the museum's gates and let them open forever.
Pudge, our nice concierge, is nicking at the thousands of visitors with a satisfied smiling, only sometimes you hear her "AH" and "OH". She seem to be yelling

WELCOME BACK! We're happy to see you again- it was quite boring without you.

27/04/2002 (mishRa)
650 games for downloading, a couple of new covers and screenshots, a lot of Amiga evergreens- the new update's here!
Finally, about 800 games were updatet.
Lots of fun!

13/04/2002 (mishRa)
Something new?
hmmm... you're now able to give us your comments for all games. Something cool, isn't it?
You've get pretty memories of a game, had problems with it, or the game wasn't as good as the review said- write everything. Let's talk about the good, ol' times.

12/04/2002 (mishRa)
The following caution was published on the "Anno 1503" website:

"Some bad people actually use the time for offering their illegal downloads of "anno 1503". But if you are clicking on the file, which promises you to download "anno 1503", a dialer will be installed. This dialer is costing you 1,86 Euro PER MINUTE, so your telephone bill will increase from minute to minute, and you're downloading nothing of the game."

11/04/2002 (DoM)
Now, our new new navigation system and our new and corrected two-languages-system are online since severely days. I hope you'll like it. If our new system is making trouble to you, let's talk about. Cause of this, our shop has to been closed, 'cause we still have to refresh it.

Last but not least, a new, nice feature for you: the free in space flying museum's map. On all sites you're able to enable it with this little icon . Try it!

25/03/2002 (mishRa)
you want more downloads, more covers, more information, simply more of everything...?
Okay, that' no problem. Update-Time!
So,open the museum's gates and let our people go...in!

02/03/2002 (mishRa)
DOWNLOADS at TheLegacy? YES!
We're happy to tell you that since today and hopefulley forever, you're able to download chosen games from our server.
'Cause of this, we've made co-ops with other sites on the net. Everytime when you see this icon , there's something to play, like 1869...

But that's not all. Kultpower and TheLegacy are going on to each other. Our new forum is used by both of us. Lots of fun!

24/02/2002 (DoM)
A sweet hello to all people wandreing through our museum and such who want to be. Once again, we had an update with 511 modifications. It's pretty good, isn't it? And for all who didn't knew: the XXL search engine is easy to use. =o)

But we've got more-do you've ever clicked on this sweet butteon? Okay, this one isn't available, but his friends at the games offer many additional informations.

24/02/2002 (Chris)
Today, the 02.24.2002, a message has been spread through the German internet. This message has shocked the German board scene, and will change it. Engine, one of the most liked member in every board, has died today at 2:25AM. He died of an subdural hematoma. He was only 25 years old. He left a wife and a child. In the name of TheLegacy, I want to speak out our deepest regrets.

12/02/2002 (DoM)
Hi folks, TheLegacy is BACK.

At the 01.28, they've got our base when our database has been removed from the web. 'Till today,we had to make improvements at it. These improvements wer necessary to relaunch our database. But I think that it was worthy enough to wait till today - TheLegacy is faster than ever before.

But many improvements mean many potentially failures,so if you detect one, mail us.

28/01/2002 (DoM)
Totally unexpected, our database has been released from the web, because we've made too much traffic for our provider. Details here and here.

17/01/2002 (mishRa)
A little bit late, but even in time enough, I wonder if you all get into the new year as good as you left the old one. I hope so.
At our museum, everything went a little bit leisurely, so we had 'til today our free weeks :-)
But we had a lot of little updates every week, which we only didn't make public. Our good old database has been tightened and tieded up, so we had no time for updating any pictures.
But for all the people who guess that they bought their year tickets for throwing away, we have a colourful update today. :-)

20/12/2001 (DoM)
"The same procedure as every year!"-christmas. For all the people wich are coming now for their first time, we've developed something new: our "Topsellers",e.g. games which were or still are real bestsellers. Click and order!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year
your TheLegacy-Team.

16/12/2001 (mishRa)
A small one today...
Step by step, we're decreasing our mountain of datas which we get mailed and have to fit in our museum. So we have a demand to you: SEND US MORE!

09/12/2001 (DoM)
Ca. 800 games we have included to our museum at this update. We needed much enough time,so, look at it and enjoy.

To compensate you for the long time you had to wait,we've included a new feature in our museum. For example, look at Might and Magic I - all related games will be listed there by click. Show for your favourite game series, and enjoy this new feature...

04/10/2001 (DoM)
Did you ever tried to search the game "Z" with our XXL Search or our QuickSearch engine? Hard to master, until today :-)
Now, it is possible to search for an title exactly, and if that's not enough, you can use "%" as an wildcard.

03/10/2001 (mishRa)
Hi folks,
we had a lot of time and so added an update with ca. 500 games.
'Cause that's not enough, he have added a rotating "Top 5" at our main page, which includes three different topics. This dates will be determined from our database and are because of this free from our sense.

13/09/2001 (DoM)
We have some new things included into TheLegacy. PC-Games aren't available any more, but don't be afraid- they are available as DOS/WIN games. Also,we've included two new systems: Mac and Linux. For the last one, there aren't much games available, but Loki's working on it :-)

11/09/2001 (mishRa)
Today, we've finished three big points on our "To-Do-List". At first, we've updated our database- 900 (!) games have been included. Search at the XXL-Search for "update", and you'll surely find something for you.

As last big thing, you're now able to see which games have been mostly admired at our museum. If you want to see wo has the lead, only look at the museum :-)

04/09/2001 (DoM)
Hi folks,"Xzentrix",the greastest party for alternative computer systems, is going to happen again. Look at our forum or at its page.

02/09/2001 (DoM)
After a long time, there's a update form the programmers' deeps :)
By clicking on the genre definitions all games with the same definition will be shown. We'll expanse this system on all senseful points in the games' reviews step by step.

19/08/2001 (mishRa)
No, we were no lazy!
Even if EverQuest has hindered us partitionally.
At least, we've managed it to support ca. 500 games with informations.
Finally, we've transposed our TopTen which was about our Top Cover to a Amiga Music Top Ten.
Much enjoy by hearing! :)

24/07/2001 (DoM)
And once again we got tons of new stuff for you, including over 400 games.
Thanks to all who supported us and are still doing.
A special thanks goes to all users of a well known Online-auctionhouse, who provided us after a little request with gamecovers, credits and further infos. Thank you! :)

23/07/2001 (mishRa)
The new Amiga-Classix is here!
With it this collection of Amiga-Games goes for their 3rd round. If its worth buying, what the compilation is offering and anything else you'll get to know while reading this detailed test.

16/07/2001 (mishRa)
Today very special day for TheLegacy! Why?
One of our most loyal employees, Pudge, chaste receptionist and DesignGuru bei TL, celebrates her birthday today and we want to dedicate this update entirely this unique occassion! Happy Birthday!! :-)

08/07/2001 (mishRa)
Well, what should I say, 335 games have been added this time.
New screenshots, cover scans, a few texts and some new category definitiones. Once again many museum pages went more colorful, so you 'game hungry fans' will even find more reaons to disappear in nostalgia without hope :)

27/06/2001 (mishRa)
A little update! 150 games have been updated or been added to the museum.

19/06/2001 (mishRa)
350 games have been updated or been added to the museum.

You've now get the opportunity to state your genre definition for all the museum's games. You're now able to search the games by genre, too.

09/06/2001 (mishRa)
Many thanks to Bob Craven (GUN) and T. Pursch. Because of their great support we are able to update our museum so fast.
All updated games are specially marked and you can find them easily with the help of the XXL-Search.

06/06/2001 (Pudge)
That was quicker than we thought!
Our dreams have become true. The new museum including the new design and the power search is online! About all the things that have changed you could already read in the last very long ;-)) news. So, there's nothing left to say. Just have fun!!

04/06/2001 (mishRa)
Oh man,Im so excited!.
Our new update is nearly ready and I cannot hold back my excitment any longer,I just have to tell you a little about it,or I will explode.....;-).

Especialy since on certain of the topic related Boards, discussions have started over our planned update. Just one question from us,who let it slip out, that there would be a update?,....oh well thats life!.

The look of The Legacy (TL) will not change much, the main changes will take place behind the scene's,youcould compare it to the like's of fitting a V8 engine into a Mini ;-).One of the biggest changes for TL is it will be completely catalogued/recorded in a databank. For you this will hopefully mean a fast, easy to use search function, meaning you can race through all TL data and quickly find any games that bring back all those happy memorys.Even if you only know a bit of the name, this should not pose a problem: "Hmm Im not sure, what was that games name, something like `.....Engine' and there were 2 parts!.

The Cheats Column will stay just the same as before, covering Tips,Tricks and Solutions for lots of games.
Of course if you have any Tips etc, that we have not listed, please fell free to send them to us so we can add them to the site!.

A small suprise is being worked on,in the form of "Arkanoid".Have any of you ever managed to see all the levels from this game?,well now you can,but only by TL.
Fingers crossed that the update will be up and running in the next few days and that I have made at least a few of you interested enought to pop by and take a nostalgic trip, looking through the games of yesteryear.

12/05/2001 (Andy - GamersUnitedNetwork)
All fans who travelled with "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" and enjoyed 5 o'clock tea with a certain Mr.D.Gently,will sadly be doing it alone from now on.
The English (cult)Author Douglas Adams (Bureaucracy, Hitchhiker: Guide to the Galaxy) suffered a heart attack on Friday morning, from which he never recovered. At the time he was in Santa Monica,California and was only 49 years old,he leaves behind his wife and one daughter.
Adams has been a inspiration to many in the computer entertainment industry, with his witty humor and totaly mad ideas,he will be sadly missed.

02/05/2001 (The_Braindead - The world looks much more better seen through the bottom of a bottle.)
This time our Cover of the Month is dedicated to the immortal RPG-series "The Bard's Tale" and especially to the inofficial successor "Dragon Wars".
May the Evil on Earth never find peace

03/04/2001 (mishRa)
April has arrived!,I puposely did not upload a Cover of the Month on the 1st, incase you all thought it might be a April Fool's joke.A brand new cover in a museum,if you see what I mean ... ;-)

18/03/2001 (mishRa)
Do you still remember all the catchy tunes of Amiga like
Cannonfodder, Lost Patrol, Speedball 2?
From now on you can listen to all of them, because we've included the sounds of more than 350 different Amiga games.

Many more things have also changed because of the latest update: there are 100 new covers, 70 new screenshots, 50 new goodie-images and various descriptions of the contents to some games. Have fun!

04/03/2001 (mishRa)
After a long break it is update time! *Yeah*

The museum includes now 10.250 games. Furthermore, it offers 1.000 new screenshots and 750 new covers.

We started a cooperation with "Kultpower". They offer original test-reports about diverse games printed in the German magazine "Power Play" (e.g. 1869).

Moreover, we won some programmers and developers to a game-patronage, like Rudolf Stember, the StrauchBrothers (Dynablaster, Nectaris), Andreas Kemnitz (Vermeer, BoneCruncher), Heinz Rudolf (Lethal Xcess), Gunnar Lieder (P.P. Hammer, Brain Ball), Oliver Malms (Turn It, Sequel), Thorsten Sommermann (Nippon).

02/03/2001 (Pudge)
Have a look: our new Cover of the Month!

05/02/2001 (mishRa)
Thinking back of your school time, you remember that you have missed class because your eyes were glued to the cpc? Still feeling good while thinking of it, you're getting gooseflesh ... and you still love your games? Then please contact us! Try to get in touch! We'd be glad if you support and strengthen our team in the area of CPC.

Of course we have a new
Cover of the Month. This time it`s the legendary "Ragnarok".

22/01/2001 (mishRa)
Imagine a hall full of enthusiastic computer fans. They are sitting in front of their machines - Commodore C64, Atari XL and ZX Spectrum.
PC, Amiga or Playstation are nowhere to be seen. Instead of Quakecrap or Internet-Windows on the screens you can see cult games and incredible demos.
A dream? No! Reality. On the Forever 8 Bit Party, 16th until 18th march, 2001.
More info.

05/01/2001 (mishRa)
Now has the new millenium come to reality,if we go after the German maths giant Adam Riese, and he surely knew about things he told.
Cover of the Month in January is "Global Effect",one of the few CD32 games for Amiga which were published.

24/12/2000 (mishRa)
All Legacians, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We wish you many full hours in our museum, ... same we wish for us. :)

05/12/2000 (mishRa)
It was bound to happen that way... :)
At present "The Sims" are blocking all activities of the museum, because everybody is addicted to that game.
That's why the new "Cover of the month" is a little late this time.
So, please excuse out total loss of reality and time... ;)

21/11/2000 (mishRa)
We came to a decision! Because of the amount of your entries "Necronom" was chosen to our new cover of the month.

Further our rating system and the navigation arrows were improved graphically. So, hopefully it looks much better and clearer for you now.

"TheLegacy" has got the "History Award" from "The Dot Eaters & The Number Crunchers" for its excellent content and its outstanding design. Wow!!

21/11/2000 (mishRa)
Update-Time!
Totally 9.809 games, 466 new screenshots, 80 new covers and new information to many games are online.
Furthermore from now on the best-tested system is placed beside the ratings to make the rating system clearer and more transparent.

EGOSOFT, the creators of the legendary "X-Beyond the Frontier", agreed to a sponsorship with TL.
So EGOSOFT checks its own published games and it is responsible for the correct contents. Many thanx to EGOSOFT for its support.

18/10/2000 (mishRa)
The new update appeared.
The museum grows unstoppable and now there are already about 9.534 games in it.
Furthermore there are 407 new screenshots, 63 new covers and 303 new C64-sids online.
To some games we recently offer detailed German tests, which are available at our partner site.
MightyGamers

01/10/2000 (mishRa)
At this month, "Populous" has been crowned to the Cover of the Month...

25/09/2000 (mishRa)

The new update's online and there are 418 new screenshots and 87 new covers.

MightyGamers and TheLegacy have agreed a co-op agreement which will show itself at the next update by tests and reviews for the games.

01/09/2000 (Pudge)
The summer's over and it was so bad that you can only increase your mood by playing a good game of "M.U.D.S.". In that case as the Cover of the Month this time "M.U.D.S" to give you a little punch :).

28/08/2000 (mishRa)
Hi!
When this "Hi" doesn't seem different like the rest of this news entry, then you must install our typical TheLegacy font. When you don't download it a lot of the museum's flair will be lost for you.
So the privations come to an end, you're now able to download the TheLegacy font here.

14/08/2000 (DoM)
And it's time again for improvements-in the night of 08.13. to 08.14. has the whole museum been updated. So we're counting now 9.171 registered games. The extent of the games which are exposed here has been improved, too. So you can see at ca. 100 games a short introduction. The classic 'Xenon' is such a case (german only). Look at them.

01/08/2000 (mishRa)
At this month, "Gemstone Warrior" has been crowned to the Cover of the Month. A real RPG classic...

24/07/2000 (mishRa)
Yeahhh...!!! The work is done. With a proud swollen chest we are able to present you 9.068 games ONLINE. Weeks of removing dust, listing and assorting are over. The whole museum "employees" are rejoycing, have a party and can't believe it! Can you? :-)

Farther have been three new links linked up. They're about "- c64-forever.de -", "Longplayer" and "PowerPlay muss leben" ("PowerPlay has to live").

01/07/2000 (mishRa)
Well, the july has broken on and it is time for a new Cover of the Month. It is the turn of "Faery Tale Adventure". The dragon is too beautiful :-)

29/06/2000 (mishRa)
Since a lot of people demanded it, we've opened a Café for you in which you can discuss about your opinions, games, TheLegacy and anything you want to discuss about.

We are especially proud on the thing that we can present you an English version of TheLegacy. Especially thanks are going to Christopher Rein - without him it wouldn't have been able to present you TheLegacy for our englishspeaking visitors in this way.

27/06/2000 (Pudge)
Well, it is still unbelieveable for us, but we've uploaded the letters"M, N, O, P and Q". In fact, our museum counts now 4.400 games. We're SO happy...

25/06/2000 (mishRa)
The letter "R" has been uploaded. Now are 2.800 games online.

21/06/2000 (DoM)
Hi folks, now it is going on! We've finished our move and have gigantic internet rates. Try it... The letter "S" has been uploaded. Now are 2.160 games online.

20/06/2000 (mishRa)
Amiga ForU has been linked. You are searching for games and emulators? Then look at this!

15/06/2000 (mishRa)
Andy's RPG-Classics has been linked. This page is specialized in RPG's and their emulators.
Nevertheless there are midis, WinAmp Skins, hints and Fantasy Artworks.

13/06/2000 (mishRa)
Since a little time you are able to vote about us at COCOS. This can you do easily at our Rating-Window.

12/06/2000 (mishRa)
TheLegacy has two new members! Look at them ;-)

With Real Amiga has been another good German Amiga-emulator page linked. It is a visit worth.

09/06/2000 (mishRa)
Two new links have been linked up.
Runetek's RPG exclusive concerns with role-playing games within a multitude of systems. Pirate's Portal concerns with classics of the computer- and video-games-scene.

08/06/2000 (mishRa)
The page "Welt der Schlümpfe" (world of the smurfs) was linked up.
Even though it`s not a typical game link, this page is great and worth seeing!

06/03/2000 (mishRa)
The topically newsletter appeared. Hurry up subscribing it! ;-)
